The Elephant is seen as wise, strong, virtuous, but also as unforgiving- an elephant never forgets!
In most cases, the elephant is blessed with positive traits.

In Indian mythology, the god Ganesha has the head of an elephant. He is one of the most revered deities of Hinduism and is known as the personification of wisdom and helper in difficult situations.
A Buddhist legend tells us how a white elephant appeared to Mahamaya while she was pregnant with Siddhartha Guatama.
In China, a virgin goddess called Moye is made pregnant through the vision of a god with an elephant’s head.

The word “Antelope” (from Latin antalopus) has been used with its modern meaning since early times.
We are told in ancient and middle-aged bestiaries (these were compendiums of beasts) of a wild animal that lived on the banks of the Euphrates.
It was so fast that no hunter could kill it; its horns were as sharp as saws and the animal could fell trees with them. Sometimes it would get caught with its horns in undergrowth and only then could it be killed.

The animals are named in English, French, German, and Latin.

The drawings have been done with much attention to detail.
