Map of Iran

Map of Iran with surrounding areas. - Landkarte von Iran. - Mapa de Irán. - Carte d'Iran.

Iran's capital is Tehran, which is also the biggest city of the country. Flights to Iran usually go to Tehran. Important other cities are Tabriz, Ardabil, Rasht, Bakhtaran, Hamadan, Qom, Esfahan, Ahvaz, Shiraz, Jahrom, Bandar-e 'Abbas, Iranshahr, Bam, Zahedan, Kerman, Zabol, Yazd, Birjand, Bojnurd and Mashhad. The highest mountain peaks in Iran are Damavand (5604 m), Zard Kuh (4548 m), in the Turkish/Iranian border region is located Mt. Ararat (5137 m).
The official language of Iran is Persian (Farsi). Next to Persian several other languages are spoken, but they have no official status in any region: Arabic in several parts of the southwest, Kurdish in the northwest and Azerbaijani in the region around Tabriz and the Caspian Sea. All these languages are written with the Arabic script. In our map we have given the Arabic script spellings of the cities.
Tourism is of lower importance in Iran. We would appreciate more detailed information, also about tourism, flights, or individual tours to Iran.

This is our Map of the World with original scripts (original size 70 x 100 cm), from which the detailed map shown above has been cut out. The numbers of city inhabitants and vegetational zones were researched by hand for every country, by using the sources listed below. This procedure prevented the map from containing traditional errors provoked by simply copying such information from previous maps.

The map can be ordered for 11.50 Euros (+ postage and packing) at
