Map of Guyana

Map of Guyana with surrounding areas. - Landkarte von Guyana. - Mapa de Guayana. - Carte de Guyane.

Guyana's capital is Georgetown, which is also the biggest city of the country. Flights to Guyana usually go to Georgetown. There are no more big cities in Guyana, the next town is New Amsterdam. A large part of Guyana is covered by the tropical Amazon rain forest, with the large rivers Essequibo and Cuyuni. On our map is well visible that a large part of Guyana's southern rain forest has already been deforested - it is very obvious that Guyana does not take any measures to protect its forest against the massive forest destruction promoted by Brazil. Guyana is a country where apart from Georgetown only little official authority is executed.
The official language of Guyana is English. Inside the country many native languages are spoken. In the coastal areas the main languages spoken there are Taki-Taki (or Talki-Talki, a mixture between English, Dutch, native languages and Hindi), and Hindi. There is a numerous Hindi minority in Guyana. In the south Portuguese should be spoken in a large area.
Tourism is of practically no importance in Guyana. We would appreciate more detailed information, also about tourism, flights, or individual tours to Guyana.

This is our Map of the World with original scripts (original size 70 x 100 cm), from which the detailed map shown above has been cut out. The numbers of city inhabitants and vegetational zones were researched by hand for every country, by using the sources listed below. This procedure prevented the map from containing traditional errors provoked by simply copying such information from previous maps.

The map can be ordered for 11.50 Euros (+ postage and packing) at
