Uzbekistan's capital is Tashkent (Toshkent), which is also the biggest city of the country. Flights to Uzbekistan usually go to Tashkent. Other important towns are Nökis, Urganch, Bukhoro, Samarqand (Samarkand), Namangan, Fargona (Farg'ona) und Andijon.
The official language of Uzbekistan is Uzbek. In Karakalpakistan, Karakalpak is another official language. In the Soviet era Uzbek was written in the Cyrillic script. After the Soviet era the Latin script was introduced and seems to replace the Cyrillic script.
Tourism is of lower importance in Uzbekistan. We would appreciate more detailed information, also about tourism, flights, or individual tours to Uzbekistan.
